WOW! I have a lot to catch up on... last time I wrote I shared that I was on bedrest. Well I had our little (little is used loosely here) on May 11, 2009 and he came three weeks early at a whopping 9 lbs. 8 oz. I ended up needing an emergency c-section because of how ill I was but in the end it all turned out great in the end.
The first three months of Johnny's life I spent at home for the summer. Then sadly I had to return to work. I started a new school year and Johnny and Hollin went back to the daycare they know and love at MommyAnn's. It was all great but still bittersweet. I hadn't worked in about 9 months and I didn't really know what it was going to be like again.
I started work and I was lost. I felt like I had forgot everything about teaching. After a couple weeks I got it back and realized all my obligations and everything else I needed to make for a great school year for my students and myself.
So the school-year flew by and so did Johnny's first year. Before I knew it we were celebrating his FIRST birthday. It was a blast and shared with family. Even though Hollin had seriously the biggest first birthday party ever we decided to keep ours small and just make it family. It was a great decision.
So here I am with four school days left and then I get time to be the busy mom that I dream of being. I am so looking forward to it. So here is to another summer! Cheers!!!

And Baby Makes 4... and one bored MAMA waiting!
Well, as many of you know I am pregnant with our second child, who happens to be a boy! I am due May 28th but due to a condition, Placenta Previa, I am already on bedrest and will more than likely have the baby early via c-section. I am bored, very bored but it will all be worth it in the end. I am just hoping that a tough pregnancy equals easy baby- Hey, it worked with Hollin. :)
This pregnancy has been a roller coaster! Here is how it all went down. I found out I was pregnant while on a scrapbooking retreat with some friends. That was September 21st. Then I went to the doctor to confirm the at home pregnancy test on Monday, September 22nd. Where they saw two sacs so they were guessing it was twins. So, I drove home in SHOCK... and I was not telling Ted I was pregnant until his birthday on the 24th. I had it all planned. He gets Hollin up and dressed and I was going to make a shirt that said... Happy Birthday Daddy I am going to be a big sister. But since I was in such shock I was not what you would call my usual self. This meant that Ted came home from work and wondered what was wrong. I couldn't quite tell him and I told him when I was ready I would tell him. He made a phone call to his mom and right after he started the phone call I immediately instructed him to get off because I was ready to tell him what was wrong. He did! I then told him I was pregnant and they thought it was twins. At this point we were happy but both a little panicked. So much for my birthday surprise!
Meanwhile, we went about the week thinking about everything and what we were going to do. Then, our next appointment was my birthday the 29th... where they saw only one heartbeat! We were thrilled... we would have been thrilled with twins but I never wanted the kids to out number the parents. We are just not that family. :)
The next couple months, consisted of lots of vomiting, no appetite and getting fat fast! I finally finished with morning sickness (more all day sickness) around Thanksgiving. Then the Sunday after Thanksgiving, my kidney's started to KILL! I was diagnosed with a severe kidney infection that if it hadn't cleared up was going to end with me getting a luxury visit to the local hospital. I didn't end up getting that luxury visit and was finally able to return to work on Thursday. I felt great! It was great to see the kids and I was back to my old self.
THEN... I had a scary call (to keep this so people actually want to read it) that required me to leave work immediately and head straight to the doctor. They gave me a basic ultrasound to make sure the baby was OK but I had to go back and get a more detailed ultrasound to find out what the problem was. The baby was great- whew what a relief. I on the other hand, got diagnosed with Placenta Previa and put on bed rest. BUMMER- but again all worth it in the end. The plus side was, I found out what we were having... a boy!
So here I am several weeks later still on bedrest. Looking forward to next doctors appointment and hoping things changed and bed rest is done. I was told not to expect this though so I am trying not get my hopes up but it is so hard.
So... we have Hollin Hope and in May we will have John Theodore and he will go by Johnny. I will continue to keep people posted.

Thought we were over it....
Well I thought we were on the up and up... with the stomach virus but then this afternoon Hollin started throwing up again. We think though she might actually have the same allergy mommy has... to red dye #40. She threw up after we gave her the medicine we were told to give her if she started complaining/whining, she was so we gave it to her. When we gave it to her it was like she almost choked because she quit breathing almost and her lips turned a bluish tint. Then she threw up about 2 mins later. So according to the medicine it said to give it to her again in 15 mins. until the vomiting subsided. Well, we did that and she threw up a TON again! By this point mommy and daddy were very annoyed and called the doctor.... when he decided she more than likely has the same allergy mom has. Great!!!!! This allergy is a real pain in the butt! Poor girl. So since all the drama, she has had a bath... taken a long nap and is not eating because she begged us. She is eating applesauce and bananas, two of her favorites. Hopefully, she will keep it down! We are all over this! Ted has to take the day off tomorrow so I am hoping we are truly done.

Stomach Flu
Well, the last 24 hours we were hit with the Stomach Flu here. Hollin woke us up at 5:30, which she has never done since she was brand new. She was throwing up, we gave her a bath and then she was fine... or so we thought! We spent the rest of the day with a bowl and cuddling on a waterproof blanket. The kid broke my heart because she was so sick. At one point she hadn't had a wet diaper in over 9 hours so we were rushed to the doctor's office where they checked her for dehydration. She was dehydrated but not quite bad enough to go the ER, close but not quite. She ended up drinking some stuff and throwing it up so we thought for sure we were headed to the ER but we still had medicine to give her, which worked MIRACLES! She drank small sips and eventually had a wet diaper. We were on the up and up. All three of us spent the night sleeping down in the family room. She woke us up at 1:30 begging us for a Banana. Always a good sign!
Today she is doing much better- not 100% but better. Our poor little peanut! I can tell you one thing, it is awful being a mom when you can't do anything for your kid when they are so miserable. It killed me! I spent most of the day crying- and for any of you who know me- IMAGINE that??? Just kidding!
We are looking forward to a great night of sleep. In our own beds. This will help us all- because my back is killing me from the floor! Too old for that arrangement anymore. :)

Cracks me Up!
Tonight when I put Hollin down for bed we read her, her favorite book, Ten Little Fish! She loves that book. I finished the book and placed her in her crib. She layed her little head down on her tiny pillow and she wanted to book to "read." She crossed one leg over her knee to form a square kind-of. The she started "reading" her book and would then turn the page. It is hilarious seeing her in bed with her book mumbling the words and doing such a nice job holding her book with her legs. Hilarious! I will have to take a picture the next time.
Also, today I was singing the ABCs- that is how she lets me do her hair. She sang along with me- clear as can be! NO JOKE!! I would stop for a second and she would try to continue. I would then continue and she would keep on singing with me. It was a hoot. I loved it!
She is growing and getting to be a kid rather than a baby- boo- hoo!

Really and Truly I am going to do this thing!
Hollin is now almost 20 months old and if you look at previous posts I have tried to do this thing several times. However, this hasn't been successful, or should I say I haven't been good at this. SO... I am going to make an attempt again to get this thing going.
Our winter was AWFUL. We have all been sick, so sick. Hollin had pink eye, croup, RSV and a killer ear infection, that took 4 doses of different antibiotics to get rid of! Hilary had a sinus infection, ear infection, bronchitis and several colds. Ted actually had the flu! He was sick forever! Due to the fact that we were all so sick we weren't able to do much of anything. We did get up to the mountains a couple of times but overall, we spent time sick as a dog at home.
In March, we all went to Rancho Mirage, California for a golf vacation. It was fantastic! It was sunny and therefore, the sun killed all our germs. Thank GOD! Hollin loved riding in the golf cart, golfing, SWIMMING and so much outdoor stuff. She threw fits when we would not take her swimming. It was adorable believe it or not.
April so far has been good. We really haven't done too much! Ted had PRK (lasik) eye surgery today after the first Lasik was a disaster! (Another great moment from the winter.) Hollin loves daycare and is truly enjoying the warmer weather. She loves to play outside and now she can. We got some gently used outdoor toys and new toys for her so she really can go outside and play. It is nice and the germs are finally gone- I hope!
Some of Hollin's adorable moments and things that she does are:
Hugs and kisses everyone!
Baby signs- more, thank you, please, eat, all done, and so many more. The wonderful thing about the baby signs is she speaks and signs so we are truly understanding her!
She gets things out of the pantry and eats them
Dances when the Ellen show comes on
Loves the Price is Right
Says "mo" for Elmo.
AND SOOOO Much more! What can I say... she is adorable! Not that I am biased or anything! :)

Is it really November already?????
We as a family can't believe we are already in November! October was exciting and filled with many adventures.
I was off for most of the month, due to teaching in the year-round schedule. While I was off I enjoyed every minute of being a full-time MOM!! It was great, every minute but also very tiring compared to working! I give full props to those stay at home moms out there. We went to Music class, story time at the library, lunch with friends, and just played and had fun.
Unfortunately at the end of the month I had to go back to work. Boo-hoo but ready to not be so exhausted. Ted also went back to work full time and quit being a stay at home dad. With this Hollin is now back at her nannies house, my dad. She is happy. Ted is super busy getting the restaurant ready and loving every minute of it. It is great to see him busy and happy.
Hollin also celebrated her first Halloween. She was the MOST ADORABLE pink poodle ever! The best part of Halloween was my brother, Greyson and his wife Amy came too! It was hilarious we all took Hollin trick-or-treating, all four of his. We are a bunch of goobers. It was great though. Hollin loved them!
During, Greyson and Amy's visit we also took Hollin to the aquarium to see the fish. It was so much fun! She loved all the fish and seeing Nemo. Although I think her favorite part was the balloon animal her Aunt Amy got her. It was a palm tree with bananas and a monkey climbing up it. It was so cute and by far the best balloon animal I have ever seen. She also made us all laugh at lunch at the aquarium where she had, or scarfed alfredo sauce.
We also had a great time at a private family tasting event at our restaurant. I can't even tell you all how incredible the food is. Yum-o! The restaurant looks amazing the food is incredible. It was perfect! Not to mention the fact that my brother and sister-in-law was here.
Many of you know my brother is truly my hero and I miss him terribly so to have him in town was the best! He is great and so is his wife. It was a great month.
This month we are looking forward to the opening of the restaurant and my dad's 60th birthday party, finally! We are also really looking forward to Thanksgiving and the CU vs Nebraska game because I think we are going to win! Go Buffs!
